KOKO Forest Oy is a dynamic start-up company dedicated to providing cutting-edge insights on forest disturbances and biodiversity to bolster forest resilience against the effects of climate change. We are seeking a Forest Health Expert with expertise in forest ecology and handling of geospatial data to join our innovative team.
FOREST HEALTH EXPERT
Key Responsibilities:
– Conduct forest health analysis projects using KOKO Forest technologies and different remote sensing data
– Active engagement and communication with customers
– Contribute to forest damage detection, biodiversity monitoring, and forest resilience enhancement projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
– MSc in Forest Science or equivalent degree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, geography, or ecology).
– Demonstrated expertise in GIS and handling geospatial data, including remote sensing data.
– Expertise in forest ecology, entomology and understanding of forest health issues
Skills we consider as advantages:
– Experience in Python or R
– Experience in biodiversity issues, or ecology.
– Work experience in the forest sector.
– Familiarity and experience with remote sensing analysis.
– Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English
